Event Description
Afforestation project in Central University of Karnataka Campus is taken up Bodhi Vruksha (R), a charitable society in collaboration with Central University of Karnataka and Karnataka Forest Department
About the Project :
- It is a Green campus initiative with goal of planting 25000 samplings in five years
- This year target is 5000 saplings which include 2000 fruit plants
- Objectives of the project
- To increase green cover as much as possible
- To reduce the impact of climate change
- To develop the resilience on climate change impact
- Reduce soil erosion
- Open space afforestation
- To educate, train and involve students in protection of nature
- To create awareness among the neighboring villagers on importance of nature protection by conducting nature awareness programs
